WORCESTER, Mass. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team defeated the Assumption College, 5-2 on Thursday afternoon.
The Redhawks were again led by the duo of sophomore
Guido Janssen and senior
Boyd Blackburn. The two won their match at first doubles 6-3 over Max Francis and Reb Mariano, and then defeated the same players at first and second singles. Janssen defeated Francis 7-7, 6-2 at first singles and Blackburn beat Mariano 6-4, 6-3 at second singles.
Junior
Dennis Barlotta and freshman Matt Forrest beat Jameson Keppeler and Brandon Sze 6-2 at second doubles and Tom Nacca and
Harmeet Luthra competed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win over Jacob Lawrence and Mike Butkus. Nacca and Barlotta also won their singles matches in straight sets. The Greyhounds picked up wins at 3
rd singles and 6th singles to round out the scoring.
The 5-2 Redhawks return to Rochester to prepare for a tough match against Edinboro University in Erie, Pa. on Monday.
