FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team came away with its tenth win of the season and sixth win in the conference on Friday night with a 62-45 win over Queens College.
The Redhawks defense came to play holding Queens to only 18 points in the second half. The Knights had a poor shooting night, but in the second half alone Roberts forced Queens into just five made shots from the field (5-of-24). Queens was also unable to connect on any three pointers in the second half going 0-for-6.
Roberts was far more efficient than their opponent, shooting over 47-percent from the field with over half their points coming in the paint.
Sophomore
Armon Nasseri led the scoring effort for Roberts with 18 points off the bench. Nasseri also came down with three offensive rebounds to help the Redhawks outrebound Queens 42-28.
Roberts (10-9, 6-5 ECC) now sits in fifth place in the ECC standings. The team will take on second place team Molloy on Sunday at 2 p.m.
