WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore attacker
Hunter Lemieux had a four goal game on Saturday to lead the Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team, but it wasn't enough as the Redhawks fell to Bentley 12-8.
The Redhawks and Falcons were evenly matched in nearly every facet of the game and Roberts took advantage of the face-off battle to control the tempo, but it wasn't enough to slow down the Falcon's attack.
Sam Schubach was 15-of-21 on face offs. Schubach also added nine ground balls and one assist.
Bentley opened the scoring with a goal in sixth minute of play but Lemieux brought Roberts right back with a goal nearly three minutes later. The Falcons netted another goal but again Lemieux had the answer to keep the Redhawks level.
In the second period Bentley went on a three goal run to build a 5-2 lead.
Cody Menzies goal with two minutes to go in the second quarter brought Roberts back to within two of the lead but the Falcons answered with four straight goals.
Pat Hynes made 10 saves in net for Roberts.
Roberts Wesleyan (3-2) will enter into East Coast Conference action next Saturday against Mercy College. The game is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
