SPARKILL, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team picked up its first win in the conference on Saturday with an 8-0 shutout win over St. Thomas Aquinas. It was the first time the team has posted a shutout in Roberts men's lacrosse program history.
Senior
Cody Menzies led the goal scoring effort with four goals including the opening goal with 3:19 left in the first quarter. Menzies later had three straight goals spanned between the second and third quarters.
Matt Gademske added two goals while
Jake Sparks and
Kyle Dunham each had one goal a piece to round out the scoring for the Redhawks.
Pat Hynes played the full 60 minutes in goal and made 11 saves to keep the Spartans scoreless. Hynes becomes the first goalkeeper in the program's history to not allow a goal while playing all 60 minutes in net.
Next up for the Redhawks is a home game against Lake Erie on Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. The game is a rescheduled matchup from last month.
