SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team got off to a slow start at the Raider Classic this weekend hosted by Shippensburg University. The Redhawks went 0-3 during the tournament with losses to Slippery Rock, Shippensburg, and Kutztown.
In Friday afternoon's opener the Redhawks fell to Slippery Rock, 3-0.
Kathryn Krchniak led the team with 10 kills while
Emily Rowlison had 21 assists and four aces.
On the first match of Saturday's double header Roberts took on host team Shippensburg. The Redhawks struggled to get the offense going and dropped the match in straight sets to the Raiders, 3-0. In the second match of the day Roberts fell to Kutztown, 3-0. Krchniak again led the team with seven total kills.
Roberts will look to get back on track on Tuesday in the first home match of the season. The Redhawks take on Le Moyne at 7 p.m. in the Voller Athletic Center.
