ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A successful day from 3-point range for the Daemen Wildcats was too much for the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team to handle as the Redhawks lost 93-73 on Saturday afternoon. Roberts falls to 3-17 overall and 0-9 in the East Coast Conference.
Amari Lee and
Armon Nasseri each scored 16 points to lead the Redhawks. Daemen was led by senior Jeff Redband's 23 points. Redband nailed seven of the teams' 15 triples on the day.
Daemen jumped out to a double digit lead quickly. Seven minutes into the game the Wildcats held a 22-4 advantage as the Redhawks struggled to get the offense going.
In the second half Roberts began to bring the game within striking distance using a 24-8 run to cut the Daemen lead to single digits. But the Redhawks couldn't complete the comeback as the Wildcats again extended the lead and moved on to their 18
th victory of the season.
Next up for the Redhawks is a road trip to Queens College on Friday. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
