Redhawks Score 28 Goals and Lemieux Hits Milestone in Victory Over Alderson Broaddus, 2/26
PHILIPPI, W.V. - Men's Lacrosse traveled to West Virginia for their second game of the season to take on Alderson Broaddus University. An impressive offensive game proved to be too much for the Battlers as the Redhawks notched their second win of the season with a 28-1 victory.
The Redhawks dominated almost every statistical category this game with 11 players scoring at least one goal. Roberts went into the game hungry for another win after the year-long hiatus, and they proved their worth scoring 18 goals in the first half alone and holding Alderson Broaddus to none.
Senior Hunter Lemieux led the Redhawks with 8 goals, surpassing the 100 goal milestone. Lemieux converted his goals on 12 shots-on-goal, also adding an assist, ground ball, and caused turnover to his stat line. Sophomore Reid Jackowski was the second leading-scorer for the Redhawks with 4 goals and an assist. Senior Matt Gademske followed closely behind with 3 goals and 5 assists, while Junior Connor Jones netted three goals as well. Senior Gavin Marsh and Freshmen Jordan Deats and Matt Walsh all contributed two goals each. Seniors Nate Maloney and Mitch Streety, along with Junior Michael Pierog and Sophomore Lucas Marshall, netted one goal each to round out the scorers.
Senior Goalkeeper Pat Hynes finished with 6 saves and 1 goal allowed on the record-breaking night.
