Redhawks Men's Lacrosse Week in Review: March 1-7

Men's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight in Victory Over Wheeling, 3/6

WHEELING, W.V. - The Redhawks returned to West Virginia this past weekend to take on Wheeling University (1-3, 0-0 GMAC). Another strong offensive showing propelled the Redhawks over the Cardinals to their third straight win of the season.

Roberts began the game on a 10-0 run and continued up from there as they were extremely efficient in almost every statistical category. Nine Redhawks notched at least one goal in the 23-4 win. While the Cardinals netted three goals to close out the half, the Redhawks held Wheeling to just one goal in the whole second half. Roberts finished the game converting 23 goals on 33 shots-on-goal. Thirteen of those goals were assisted. The Cardinals only managed to get 9 shots-on-goal the whole game.

Senior Hunter Lemieux led the Redhawks once again on offense, scoring 6 goals on 8 shots-on-goal. The Lockport, N.Y. native also picked up 3 ground balls. Senior Matt Gademske, Junior Michael Pierog, and Freshman Matt Walsh contributed three goals each. Gademske added on an assist and 3 ground balls while Walsh was 100% on 3-for-3 shots-on-goal. Senior Gavin Marsh, Sophomore Reid Jackowski, and Freshman Jordon Deats notched two goals a-piece, while Juniors Zach Cree and Jonathon Deats rounded out the scoring with one each.

The Redhawks return to the turf for their first home game of the season on Tuesday night. They will be facing off against Lake Erie College (0-2, 0-0 GMAC), who they've beaten in their past two contests. Face-off is set for 5 pm. Watch the livestream here.
