Men's Lacrosse Comes Up Short Against Chestnut Hill, 3/27
LAFAYETTE HILL, P.A. - The Redhawks traveled to Pennsylvania this past weekend to take on Chestnut Hill College for their seventh game of the season. A strong offensive second half by the Griffins secured their close lead and gave Roberts their third loss of the season.
While Chestnut Hill was the first on the board, Roberts had an 8-7 lead going into the half. Immediately after the break, a goal by Junior Michael Pierog for the Redhawks kept the advantage, but three consecutive goals by the Griffins helped them take a one goal lead. Freshman Luke Delavak tied the game back up again a few seconds later, but another run by the Griffins kept them on top for good.
Senior Matt Gademske led the Redhawks scoring with four goals. Seniors Nate Maloney and Hunter Lemieux along with Pierog netted two a-piece. Lemieux also picked up two ground balls and caused a turnover. Senior Gavin Marsh and Delavak rounded out the scoring with one goal each. Senior Mitch Streety controlled 17-of-29 faceoffs on the day and picked up a game-high 10 ground balls. Senior Goalkeeper Pat Hynes made nine saves and picked up four ground balls.
The Redhawks (4-3, 0-1 ECC) return home this weekend to take on Molloy College (1-5, 0-1 ECC) in an East Coast Conference match-up. The game is set for Saturday, April 3rd at 12 pm. Tune into the
