ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Senior Emily Rowlison led the Roberts Wesleyan College women's volleyball team in four statistical categories in a three-set loss to Daemen College Saturday afternoon at the Voller Athletic Center. Scores were 25-18, 25-11, 25-19.
"They came out strong," Roberts head coach Doug Porterfield said. "The game of volleyball is serve and serve-receive and we did not get the job done in the serve-receive department."
Rowlison, a 6-foot-2 native of Yuma, Arizona, paced the Redhawks (1-1) with 6 kills, 5 blocks, 9 assists and six digs.
Freshman Madison Truong contributed 8 assists, 5 digs and an ace and junior Miranda Rich added three blocks and two aces.
Sophomore Lauren Norwood also had 6 kills and freshman Victoria Rudolph finished with 6 digs.
"We are growing stronger with every match," Porterfield said. "As I look to the fall season, I am excited with the growth of every player. We are resilient, so tune in next week."
The Redhawks return to action at 7 p.m. Friday, April 16 against D'Youville at the Voller Athletic Center.
