ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan College women's volleyball team lost the first two sets to D'Youville on Friday night. It didn't matter as the Redhawks (2-1) regrouped and rallied for a thrilling five-set victory over the Saints at the Voller Athletic Center. Scores were 18-25, 29-31, 26-24, 25-18 and 15-10
Roberts even fell behind early in the deciding set before scoring the final six points of the match to secure the victory.
"We had a slow start but the team never gave up and never gave in," said head coach Doug Porterfield. "Every player made contributions to tonight's win."
Senior Emily Rowlison led the way in the final home match of her career with 10 kills, 21 assists, 7 aces, 16 digs, 8 block assists and 22 points.
Sophomore Lauren Norwood contributed 10 kills, 14 digs, 3 aces and 12.5 points and freshman Madison Truong added 14 assists, 11 digs and 3 aces.
Junior Miranda Rich and sophomore Charlotte Orgill were also strong at the net with 10 kills apiece. Rich added 14 points and 3 aces.
Freshman Victoria Rudolph added 14 digs.
Roberts also defeated D'Youville in five sets on March 20.
The Redhawks conclude their season at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at Daemen College.
