ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan College women's soccer team opened East Coast Conference play against a talented Molloy College team on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions, who are ranked No. 14 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, scored off a rebound in the eighth minute and went on to a 4-0 victory.
"I thought that we were unlucky to go down a goal early as it was a fairly even game," Roberts head coach
Sarah McClellan said. "We did some nice things against a Top-15 team in the country. Now, we just want to get our team back to full strength and prepare for our home conference opener."
Lexi Verni scored three goals for the Lions, who led 2-0 at halftime.
Nicolette Knauf (3 saves in 70 minutes) and
Maddie Franklin (1 save in 20 minutes) shared the goalkeeping duties for Roberts (0-5-1).
