Redhawks Preparing To Face Mercy In Regular-Season Finale

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – As a fifth-year player, graduate student Justine Sharda has seen a lot with the Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team.
Sharda has experienced a seven-game losing streak to start the 2021 season and an eight-game winning streak to start the 2022 campaign.
She and her teammates will be channeling positive energy as they look to bounce back from Saturdays 4-0 loss to Daemen University as they prepare to face No. 19 Mercy in their East Coast Conference regular-season finale next Saturday.
"This just has to humble us for what is to come," Sharda, a midfelder, said. "We just need to keep pushing forward."
The Redhawks (11-3, 5-2 ECC) have experienced many more peaks than valleys this season and are currently in third place in the ECC standings behind Mercy (12-2, 7-0) and Molloy (11-32, 7-1), who each have 15 points.
Daemen (3-9-2, 3-3) has earned nine points in ECC play with two games remaining. The top four teams qualify for the ECC Tournament.
The Mavericks received two goals from Brooke Amato against Roberts on Saturday. Daemen led 1-0 at the half.
Sophomore midfielder Maia LaVigne said the Redhawks are looking at Saturday's loss as an opportunity to improve.
"We need to learn from our experiences and what we did incorrectly and what we did correctly and move on with our season," said. "We just have to keep moving on and grow as a team."
