ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued its successful season with wins over Utica University and Wells College Saturday afternoon in the Voller Athletic Center.
The Redhawks took first place in 18 of the 24 events on the day. The women's team defeated Wells, 159-25 and Utica, 125-74. The men took down Wells, 136-40 and Utica, 139-37.
Gabe Rivers was a triple winner for Roberts with first place finishes in two individual events including, the 50-yard freestyle (22.76) and 100-yard freestyle (49.88). The senior also was on the winning 400-yard medley relay team who touched the wall in 3:56.12. Joining Rivers on the relay team was Tommy Booth, Robert Bodien, and Andon Fedor.
Rennee Rozler was also a three-event winner for the Redhawks. The junior won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:31.27 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:31.60. Rozler also teamed up with Morgan Sproull, Amanda Charleston, and Mya June to win the 400-yard medley relay.
Roberts also swept the diving events. Emma Dicob won the one-meter dive with a score of 188.80. William Rugaber won the men's one-meter dive with a score of 219.95.
The Redhawks will be off until Dec. 2 when the teams travel to The College of Staten Island for the East Coast Conference Invitational.
