ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team has qualified for the East Coast Conference Tournament for the second consecutive season.
The Redhawks (11-3-1, 5-2-1) earned the third seed in the ECC Tournament and will play at second-seeded Molloy (11-4-2, 7-1) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Roberts opened the season with eight straight victories and also won its first five conference matches to qualify for the ECC Tournament for the fourth time in program history.
"The team has worked hard this season and has done a good job of taking a game-by-game approach," Roberts coach Sarah McClellan said. "Their efforts have been rewarded by securing a spot in the ECC Tournamet."
Freshman Ella White leads Roberts with 11 goals, which tied for first in the ECC. Junior midfielder Gabrielle Ciambella also reached double figures in points this season with 13 (four goals, five assists).
Junior goalkeeper Nicolette Knauf started all 15 matches for Roberts this season and tied for second in the ECC with a 0.94 goals-against average.
No. 4 Daemen plays at No. 1 Mercy in the other semifinal. The winners will advance to Saturday's championship match at the home of the higher seed.
