ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University men's basketball team jumped to a quick 9-0 lead and limited visiting Roberts Wesleyan to five field goals in the first half while pulling away for an 88-50 victory in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.
The Redhawks (3-7) made only five of their 27 shots from the floor (18.52%) and trailed 36-15 at the half.
Graduate student Rian Carter led Roberts with 12 points. Malik Brooks added nine points for the Redhawks and Ja'Kair Sanchez contributed seven points and seven rebounds.
Roberts hosts Molloy College in an East Coast Conference game at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Voller Athletic Center.
