Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to Oakland City in the NCCAA semifinals on Thursday evening, 78-62.
Taryn Wilson scored 15 in the effort, but the Redhawks struggled to hit shots going just 24-of-64 from the field and shooting 25-percent from 3-point range.
After falling behind by double digits in the first quarter Roberts recovered with a strong second and third quarter, including a 12 point run in the third quarter.
Second chance opportunities for Oakland City were the backbreaker for the Redhawks. Oakland City outrebounded Roberts 51-36 with 19 of those rebounds coming on the offensive end leading to 20 points.
Oakland City was led by Emilee Hope who scored 29 points.
Dimitra Gkizani posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Roberts will play in the third place game on Saturday at noon against either Asbury University or Southwestern Christian University.
