Volleyball Falls to Saint Rose and Frostburg in Tri-Match

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the road in a tri-match with The College of Saint Rose and Frostburg State. The Redhawks suffered a 3-1 loss against Saint Rose and a 3-0 loss with Frostburg.

After losing the first set in Saturday's opening match against Saint Rose, the Redhawks used a five-point run in the second set to take a lead and eventually go on to win the set, 25-22. Roberts got off to a quick start in the second set, taking a 6-1 lead, thanks in part to five early errors by the Golden Knights. Saint Rose rallied back to take a 13-10 lead. The late scoring run for Roberts helped the team regain a pivotal 22-19 lead. Freshman Olivia Price kicked the run off with a kill followed by Caleigh Schroeder with an ace.

Saint Rose found the momentum in the third and fourth sets to win the match.

Outside hitters Laura Amaya and Olivia Price led the team with eight kills each. Sarina Pasquantonio had 18 assists.

In the second match of the afternoon, the Redhawks struggled to get its offense going against Frostburg.
