ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team continues to find ways to win.
Junior
Gabrielle Ciambella scored in the fifth minute and freshman
Larissa Johnston scored in the 75
th as the Redhawks defeated Queens College 2-0 in an East Coast Conference match on Saturday afternoon.
Roberts (8-0, 4-0 ECC) extended its regular-season winning streak to 15 matches and is tied for first place in the ECC standings with Mercy with 12 points. The Redhawks have not lost a regular-season game since Sept. 29, 2021 at Daemen.
"It's tough to string wins together and the team has done a good job refocusing for each game," Redhawks coach
Sarah McClellan said after the Homecoming Weekend victory.
"We are very excited," midfielder and captain
Justine Sharda said. "Now it is up to us to keep up our work ethic."
Roberts scored early as freshman
Kara Choate ran down an attempted clear and sent a cross in front to Ciambella, who connected for her third goal of the season.
The score remained the same until the 75
th minute when Sharda sent a corner kick into the box and Johnston headed it home for her third goal of the season and third in three games.

Larissa Johnston is really doing a great job," McClellan said. "She comes in and she changes the game for us. She's got such good instincts and she's a strong player, but she also has great agility."
Junior
Nicolette Knauf made two saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
Roberts hosts Mansfield University in a non-conference match at 6 p.m. on Monday.
