ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sophomore libero
Teagan Weber posted a career-high 26 digs on Wednesday evening in a stellar defensive effort, but it wasn't enough for the Roberts women's volleyball team to upset Daemen, as the Redhawks fell, 3-0.
Roberts held Daemen to its fourth lowest hitting percentage of the season (.197) and forced 22 attack errors on the night. Weber had one of her best nights on the defensive end with 26 digs. The Galveston, Texas native's previous career-high was 22 digs back on Sept. 9 against D'Youville in a non-conference matchup with the team. Weber currently has 163 total digs this season to lead the team in the category.
The Redhawks were able to keep the score tight, but were unable to close out the sets as Daemen's offensive, led by Kate Ryan's 14 kills, found a way to take three straight sets.
Celine Malosa had eight kills to lead Roberts in her most efficient hitting match of the season. Malosa had 15 attack attempts and just one error for a .467 hitting percentage.
Roberts Wesleyan falls to 2-12 and 0-2 in the conference, but will have a chance to get a mark in the conference win column on Friday when they host D'Youville at 7 p.m.
