Box Score LOCK HAVEN, PA. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team made a strong second-half comeback, but was unable to overcome Lock Haven University in a non-conference game on Thursday night.
Playing for the second time in two nights, Roberts trailed by 25 points with 14:51 to play before making a charge. The Redhawks pulled within 75-69 on a layup by
Malik Brooks with 3:22 to go, but the Bald Eagles regrouped and prevailed 87-73.
Brooks, a senior guard, led Roberts (1-2) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Ryan Garwood went 8-for-9 from the free-throw and scored a season-high 12 points.
Kevin Constant added 10 points and
Ryan Hudson topped the Redhawks with four assists.
Lock Haven outscored Roberts 46-32 in the paint and held a 32-16 advantage in points off turnovers.
The Redhawks played an exhibition at the University at Buffalo on Wednesday night, dropping an 89-83 decision to the Division I Bulls.
Roberts returns to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, hosting Mercyhurst in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
