AMHERST, N.Y. – Malik Brooks scored 12 of his 22 points in a 3:15 span bridging the first and second halves as the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team trimmed an 11-point Daemen lead to just two with 19:43 remaining in their East Coast Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who shot 56.7% from the field in the second half, regrouped to earn an 86-68 victory over the Redhawks at Lumsden Gymnasium.
Brooks, who entered the game averaging 21.5 points per game, made 9 of his 17 field-goal attempts, including two three-pointers.
Marlon Pratt Jr. and
Ryan Hudson each added 11 points for Roberts (2-5, 1-1 ECC) and
Jermaine Taggart II scored nine.
Isaiah Elmore contributed eight points and a team-best six rebounds.
The Redhawks will return to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 against Saint Michael's College in a non-conference game at the Voller Athletic Center.
