ROCHESTER, N.Y. –The Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team went head-to-head with East Coast Conference leader and 18
th-ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas College at the Voller Athletic Center on Wednesday night.
In a game featuring 17 lead changes, the Redhawks took a 73-72 advantage on a layup by
Rian Carter with 8:02 remaining. The Spartans (20-3, 11-0 ECC) responded with a 23-10 closing run and secured a hard-fought 95-83 victory.
Carter, a graduate student, tied his career-high at Roberts by scoring 25 points.
Nicholas Johnson added 16 points and seven rebounds and
Malik Brooks added 15 points for the Redhawks (7-11, 5-5 ECC).
Ja'Kair Sanchez added a career-high nine assists.
Roberts continues its six-game homestand at 4 p.m. Saturday against Mercy College.
