ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
Isaiah Elmore and
Kevin Constant combined to score 50 of the Redhawks 83 points on Wednesday night as Roberts Wesleyan took down the College of Staten Island, 83-74.
Elmore scored a game-high 30 points on an efficient 12-of-14 shooting from the field. The junior also added in 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals.
Constant finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists and a block in the win.
The Redhawks closed out the first half with a 3-pointer by Elmore to cut the Dolphins' lead to just one point. Roberts used that momentum to control the second half which started with an 18-2 run to give the Redhawks a 13 points advantage. Roberts' defense held CSI to just four points over the first nearly six minutes of the second half.
The Dolphins turned the ball over 20 times leading to 27 points for the Redhawks.
Roberts (7-9, 4-3 ECC) currently sits in fifth place in the East Coast Conference standings and handed CSI their third loss in the conference. CSI currently sits in second place in the ECC standings.
Next up for the Redhawks is a Saturday afternoon match on the road at UDC. Tip off is slated for 3 p.m.
