ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Mia Robinson came off the bench to score a pair of goals to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Field Hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Elmira College Wednesday afternoon on the Redhawks Turf Field.

Roberts (1-10) earned its first victory of the season and controlled the play from the start with 11 shots and five penalty corners in the first quarter.

Freshman Makena Tooley opened the scoring just one minute into the game as the Redhawks converted a penalty corner with an assist to freshman Mary Catherine Maloney. The goal was the first goal at home in the two-year program history.

Freshman Annie Barsch picked up a rebound and fired a shot into the back of the goal for a 2-0 Roberts lead 6:28 into the contest.

Robinson scored the first of her two goals with just less than two minutes remaining in the opening quarter as Roberts took a 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Robinson scored again to extend the lead to 4-0 9:03 into the third quarter.

The score remained 4-0 until late in the game when freshman Gabby Croniser scored her first career goal with time running out in the fourth quarter for the final 5-0 score.

Roberts dominated the stats sheet with a 34-0 shots advantage and a 14-0 shots on goal edge.

The Redhawks will play Monday at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania and return home Oct. 26 to face D'Youville.
