BUFFALO, NY – Junior Caleigh Schroeder recorded a team-leading 30 assists and a career-high 32 digs for the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team but the Redhawks dropped a 3-1 decision to D'Youville University Saturday afternoon in an East Coast Conference (ECC) match on the road.
The Saints (7-12 overall, 4-2 ECC) won the opening set 25-21 but Roberts (10-8, 2-4 ECC) battled back for a 25-22 win in the second set to even the match score. D'Youville used a mid-set run to take a 25-14 win in the third set and then held off a late Redhawks rally for a 26-24 win in the fourth set to seal the victory.
Offensively, Roberts was led by 15 kills for Sydney Yanak and 11 kills for junior Olivia Price. The duo combined for 26 of the 43 kills for the Redhawks.
Schroeder had 30 assists and three aces to go along with her career-best 32 digs. Yanak added 14 digs and Price chipped in 15 digs as each of the three players recorded double-doubles for Roberts.
Senior Sarina Pasquantonio had 10 digs and a pair of aces for the Redhawks.
Roberts returns to action October 27 at home against Lock Haven University before returning to ECC play with a home weekend Nov. 2-3 against St. Thomas Aquinas and Mercy in the Voller Athletic Center.
