Field Hockey Falls to Bloomsburg at Home

ROCHESTER, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan Field Hockey team did not allow a shot in the third quarter and registered a shutout in the second half of action but an early 4-0 deficit allowed Bloomsburg University to walk away with a win Friday night on the Redhawks Turf Field.

Bloomsburg (7-1) scored twice in the first quarter and added two more goals in the second period but did not score again the remainder of the game.

After holding a decisive 21-0 shots advantage in the first half, the Huskies managed just five shots for the remainder of the game with all five coming in the final quarter.

Bloomsburg also held a 14-0 edge in penalty corners.

Roberts (0-5) had its best scoring chance in the second quarter when a pass from outside the arc jumped over the stick of freshman Gabby Croniser and over the end lineto end the offensive rush.

Sophomore goalie Avery Richardson finished the game with 12 saves.

The Redhawks will travel to Brockport Wednesday for a matchup against the Golden Eagles at 7 pm in Brockport.
