Daemen Rallies To Top Redhawks

ROCHESTER, N.Y.  – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team took an early lead but visiting Daemen rallied for a 3-1 victory in an East Coast Conference match on Wednesday night.

The Redhawks (4-3-1, 2-1 ECC) took an early lead as junior Jenna Northup headed home a corner kick by Alyssa Hackett in the third minute. The goal was Northup's third of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Tyndell made 11 saves for Roberts, including seven in the first half.

Daemen netted the equalizer in the 13th minute and scored twice in the second half to earn the win. The Wildcats defeated Roberts 2-0 in a non-conference match on Sept. 24.

The Redhawks will play a non-conference match at American International College on Saturday.
