BUFFALO, NY – Sophomore Paige Reeser clocked a personal best time of 18:14.4 to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Cross Country team to a second-place team finish at the Canisius College Alumni race Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks finished second with 91 points as NCAA Division I Binghamton won the team title with a near perfect score of 20 points. Detroit Mercy (93 points) was third followed by SUNY Geneseo (120), University of Buffalo (123), SUNY Oswego (198), Canisius (213), LeMoyne (243), SUNY ESF (258), Niagara (273), Daemen (305), Buffalo State (360) and Alfred State (365) with a field of 154 runners.
Senior Rachel Horner-Richardson was close behind Reeser in seventh-place overall with a time of 18:16.2. Sophomore Evelyn Schmit was next for Roberts in 16th position with a personal best time of 18:51.0.
Freshman Emma Lipa ran her season and career-best time of 19:28.1 to place 28th and fellow freshman Michaela Goettel rounded out the Roberts scoring with a time of 19:40.9 to place 34th overall.
Roberts will compete next Saturday at the ECC Championships in Kings Park, NY.
