Redhawks Battle To Scoreless Draw With No. 11 Mercy

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team showed that it could go toe to toe with the region's top-ranked team on Saturday afternoon.

The Redhawks (5-3-4, 2-1-1 East Coast Conference) extended their unbeaten streak to four by playing to a 0-0 draw with ECC foe Mercy. The Mavericks are ranked first in the East Region and tied for 11th nationally in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.

Sophomore Mia Tyndell stood out in goal for Roberts, making five saves while recording her third shutout of the season. Tyndell made a couple of spectacular stops in the second half to keep the match scoreless.

Senior Kaeleigh Romero produced the Redhawks' best scoring chance of the afternoon, but her shot went just wide of the Mercy goal late in the first half.

The Redhawks will host Felician in a non-conference match at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
