Volleyball Clings to Fourth Place in ECC Standings

AMHERST, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team dropped a tough 3-0 decision on the road to East Coast Conference (ECC) for Daemen University Wednesday night but remained in fourth place in the conference standings despite the loss.

Daemen (9-11 overall, 5-2 ECC) took the 3-0 match with set scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-20). The Redhawks are a half game ahead of D'Youville in the battle for fourth place in the conference standings.

Roberts (2-20, 2-5 ECC) was led by freshman Tiana Copp who recorded 10 kills and fellow freshman Sierra George who handed out 20 assists. Defensively, the Redhawks received seven digs from freshman Alexis Kessler and six digs each from senior Morgan Burnett and junior Julia Dufková.

The Redhawks continue ECC play this weekend with road games at Mercy University Saturday and at St. Thomas Aquinas Sunday.
