ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 10 matches while battling to a scoreless tie with the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks (6-0-4, 2-0-1) put forth a gritty effort, playing the final 44 minutes of the contest a player down.
"There's a lot to take away from this match," Roberts coach
Scott Reber said. "The guys have a lot to be proud of in the way that they stepped up. We have another big week ahead of us, so we will see how we respond."
The Redhawks generated a couple of quality scoring opportunities in the second half, including one by
Ewan O'Dwyer-Hall in the 60
th minute and one by
Archie Murphy in the final five minutes of the match. UDC outshot the Redhawks, 16-10.
Eric Jewson made seven saves while posting his fourth shutout of the season for Roberts.
The Redhawks will host Daemen in an ECC match at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
