ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Camryn Karelus recorded another double-digit kill match as she led the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team with 12 but it was not enough as Molloy University fought off a late Redhawks rally for a 3-1 win Sunday in an East Coast Conference (ECC) match in the Voller Athletic Center.
Molloy (16-7 overall, 9-1 ECC) won the first two sets 25-13 and 25-15 before Roberts (4-22, 4-6 ECC) battled back to win the fourth set 25-23. The Lions recovered to post a 25-19 win in the fourth set to secure the match win.
Karelus had double-digit kills for the third consecutive match and freshman Ryan Hull added 10 kills as the due led the offense. Freshman Sierra George had 33 assists and senior Morgan Burnett led the defense with 19 digs. Freshman Alexis Kessler added 18 digs and junior Julia Dufkova added 12 digs.
The Redhawks continue ECC play Wednesday with a key conference match at D'Youville before a final match Saturday as the team celebrates Senior Day with the final home match against Daemen.
