COLONIA, NJ – Sophomore Sarah Ferguson won the Pole Vault competition over the weekend and was named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Field Athlete of the Week. Fellow sophomore Jadyn Mullen was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll after winning the Pentathlon at Brockport.
Ferguson won the Pole Vault competition at the Brockport Multi and Invitational over the weekend. She won the event by clearing the 4.15-meter (13' 7 ¼") bar for a personal best effort. She was first out of 19 jumpers. The mark ranks sixth nationally and is second in the East Region.
Mullen improved her own school record in the Pentathlon as she won the multi event at the Brockport Multi and Invitational meet over the weekend. Mullen scored a new record of 3,421 points as she posted wins in four of the five events. She won the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 9.34 seconds, won the high jump and tied her personal best with a mark of 1.56 meters (5' 1 ¼"), won the long jump with a personal best 5.34 meters (17' 6 ¼") and also won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.91. She currently ranks 25th in the nation, first in the East Region and first in the East Coast Conference.
The Redhawks are scheduled to compete next at the ECC Championships Sunday at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island.
