BUFFALO, NY – Freshman Ryan DeJohn and sophomore Paul Fillion each recorded 12 kills and freshman Landon Brouwer handed out a season-high 40 assists to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory Tuesday night at Buffalo State.
Roberts (5-4) rallied for its third straight win after falling in the first set 25-19. The Redhawks came back with a 25-19 win in the second set and then ran away with the third set 25-16. Buffalo State (5-8) fell behind late in the fourth set but scored four straight points to take a 24-22 lead. Roberts pulled even and forced extra points before sophomore Griffin Monrad delivered an ace to seal the 32-30 win to clinch the match.
Fillion had 12 kills with a .308 attack percentage and 11 digs while DeJohn recorded his 12 kills in the final three sets. Brouwer hit the 40-assist mark for the first time this season and also had 10 digs.
Junior Moises Jimenez had 10 digs and junior Noah Liousfi had eight kills while Monrad finished with six kills, five digs and a pair of aces.
Roberts is back in action Wednesday night at Daemen University with a 6:30 p.m. match.
