PHILLIPPI, WV – Senior Gunner MacMillan and freshman Chase Wilson each scored six goals to spark the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Lacrosse team to a 25-5 win over Davis and Elkins College Tuesday in West Virginia.
Roberts (2-3) scored the first 17 goals of the game and did not allow a goal until midway through the third quarter. The Redhawks scored eight in the first period with Wilson scoring twice and MacMillan netting four consecutive goals in a span of four minutes from the 11-minute mark until just less than seven minutes remaining in the first quarter.
The team added seven more goals in the second quarter as Wilson added two more goals to his total and senior Tyler Clark scored a pair as Roberts took a 15-0 lead into the halftime intermission.
In the second half, Wilson scored the first two goals of the third quarter to boost the Redhawk lead to 17-0 before Davis and Elkins (1-6) broke free to avoid the shutout.
Roberts scored four more goals to take a 21-1 lead into the final quarter and each team scored four times over the final 15 minutes.
The 25 goals for the Redhawks is the most since April 1, 2023 when Roberts handed the District of Columbia a 27-2 loss.
Wilson lad Roberts with nine points on six goals and three assists while MacMillan chipped in seven points with his six goals and one assist. Sophomore Ryan Brown finished with three goals and an assist and freshman Cody Coleman had a goal and three assists.
Junior Garrett Kayser and freshman Landon Brimmer combined to make seven saves in the Roberts goal.
The Redhawks will play another non-conference game Saturday at Caldwell University in New Jersey.
