Men’s Volleyball Slips Against First-Place STAC

ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Ryan DeJohn recorded 15 kills and nine digs to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team but the Redhawks fell 3-0 to St. Thomas Aquinas College Saturday in a battle of the top two teams in the East Coast Conference (ECC) standings coming into the day.

STAC (13-9 overall, 5-0 ECC) won 25-20, 25-18 and 25-18 to remain undefeated in conference play. With one match remaining on the schedule, the Spartans secured the top seed in the upcoming ECC Tournament.

Roberts (9-17, 2-3 ECC) slipped to third place as Dominican University defeated American International. The Chargers have a match remaining against STAC and the Redhawks finish the regular season at home April 12 against American International.

Against STAC, DeJohn had a match-leading 15 kills and connected on a .242 attack percentage with a team-leading nine digs. Junior Moises Jimenez added eight digs and freshman Landon Brouwer handed out 35 assists.

Roberts will finish the regular season April 12 against AIC and honor seniors Jonah Grbic and Eli Harden prior to the match.
