GREENWOOD, IN – Four key members of the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Lacrosse team were honored this week with Academic All-District awards from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization.
Shawna Lesmerises, Erin Quinn, Allison Clahane and Emma Taylor were each selected to the Academic All-District team.
The requirements for Academic All-District honors are at least a sophomore academically and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average as well as have considerable contribution to the team success for the most recent season. The organization honors several thousand student-athletes each year from each NCAA Division and the NAIA as honorees are nominated by the members of the organization previously known as CoSIDA.
Lesmerises was the Goalie of the Year for the East Coast Conference (ECC) and earned First Team All-ECC honors while breaking the Roberts School record for career victories.
Taylor and Clahane were All-ECC selections as well and Taylor earned a CSC Academic All-District award winner for Women's Soccer. Clahane was a Roberts Scholar-Athlete of the Month in May. Quinn started every game for the Redhawks defense and collected 15 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers.
