ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's cross country team welcomes eight student-athletes to the program for the 2025 season.
Roberts has won 10 consecutive East Coast Conference championships and opens its season on Sept. 6 at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic at SUNY Brockport.
Let's meet the newest Redhawks:
Year: Freshman
Hometown: Greencastle, Pa.
High school: Greencastle-Antrim
Major: Engineering
Before Roberts: Competed in the Pennsylvania State meet in Cross Country four years in a row and earned three district medals, including one team first place. Competed in district meet for track and field two years in a row. Proudest accomplishment in high school was his 15:28 personal record in the 5K. Participated in Symphonic Band, National Honor Society and Music National Honor Society in school. Also was active in his church youth group and plays guitar.
Why did you choose Roberts? "I chose Roberts because of the balance between athletics and academics, and the opportunity to excel in both."

Hometown: Lewiston, N.Y.
High school: Lewiston-Porter
Major: Accounting
Before Roberts: Member of Lew-Port squad that won three Section VI Class B2 championships during high school career. Team captain his junior and senior seasons, he finished 17
th overall (ninth in Class B2) in 2024 Section VI Class B championships. Cross country team won league championship as he earned third-team Niagara Frontier League honors his senior season. Also ran track and played basketball. Participated in the Business and Finance Academy and National Honor Society at Lew-Port.
Why did you choose Roberts? "I chose Roberts because it has a great reputation for both its academic and athletic programs. I also really liked the energy during my visits to the campus. I'm so happy to be a part of this team and school."

Hometown: Terre Haute, Ind.
High school: Terre Haute South Vigo
Major: Exercise Science and Sports Management/Marketing
Before Roberts: Four-time Academic All State First-Team selection in Indiana and two-time Student Council Athlete Award winner. Also participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Interact Club and volunteered to aid in officiating the Indiana Middle School State Championships for four years.
Why did you choose Roberts? "From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I could tell Roberts was where I wanted to be. The welcoming atmosphere and sense of purpose the team carried was evident quickly, and I felt like I was meant to be a part of this young and promising team quickly."

Hometown: Rochester, N.Y.
High school: Aquinas Institute
Major: Business Administration
Before Roberts: Finished second in the Private-Parochial League championships for Aquinas in his first season of running. Participated in four varsity sports as a senior – cross country, indoor track and field, basketball and outdoor track and field.
Why did you choose Roberts? "I chose Roberts Wesleyan to continue my athletic and academic journey because it was a great opportunity for me to run and develop as a better runner. I met the coaching staff on my visit and knew that they were the right fit for me. Also, the school community is super close and welcoming and the campus is beautiful. There is also support at all times on campus; things like this drew me in."

High school: Trinity
Major: Education
Before Roberts: Participated in cross country, track and field and Alpine skiing in high school. Placed 27
th in Boys D-3 at the New Hampshire state championships. Enjoys fishing, boating and being outdoors and has worked as a camp counselor.
Why did you choose Roberts? "Honestly, I picked Roberts because the community was awesome, and it just seemed like it would be a great fit for me. Honestly, I think that's what's going to be the best part of it, is just the community here. For me, running – and athletics as a whole - has always been about the community. It's more about the people you're with, rather than just the results you can turn. I also think Roberts has the ability to give me results as well as a thriving team."

High school: Cato-Meridian
Major: Crimimal Justice
Before Roberts: Participated in both cross country and track and field at Cato-Meridian. Member of the National Technical Honor Society who volunteered for Kids Night Out and as a youth leader. Enjoys reading, movies and listening to music.
Why did you choose Roberts? "Roberts Wesleyan had the best environment with awesome people. It is a small college, and it helped me a lot to get me where I need to go."

Hometown: Gasport, N.Y.
High school: Royalton-Hartland
Major: Accounting
Before Roberts: First-team Niagara-Orleans League All-Star during his senior year of high school. Finished eighth in the 2024 Section VI Class C2 championships. Proudest accomplishment in high school is breaking 4:50 in the mile. Also played soccer and tennis.
Why did you choose Roberts? "The coaching staff and team have made a really friendly environment that also includes God."

Hometown: Bergen, N.Y.
High school: Byron-Bergen
Major: Pre-Medicine
Before Roberts: Finished 33
rd at the 2024 Section V Class D championships. Won multiple Section V championships and placed at the New York State meet in wrestling. Served as Student Council President, Varsity Club Vice-President, National Honor Society President, National Junior Honor Society President, Tenor Section Leader in Singing Silhouettes and played percussion in the band.
Why did you choose Roberts? "The academic and athletic programs align with my goals. I also wanted a faith-based college which was another factor."
