BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Roberts Wesleyan University Field Hockey team was put to the test for the second consecutive game and dropped an 8-0 decision to Bloomsburg University Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania.
Bloomsburg (7-0), ranked No. 5 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA NCAA Division II national poll, scored a pair of goals in each quarter and limited the Roberts (3-2) offense with few opportunities in the Husky end of the field.
Roberts was outshot 27-0 in the game and Bloomsburg held a 9-0 edge in penalty corners.The Huskies have surrendered just one goal in the first seven games of the season.
Junior goalkeeper Avery Richardson made seven saves for the Redhawks.
Roberts returns to action Wednesday afternoon against future East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent D'Youville University at 4 p.m. on the Redhawks Turf Field.
