NEWARK, DE – After falling 3-0 in its first match of the day, the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team took an early lead in the night cap but eventually dropped a 3-1 decision to Holy Family University on the first day of competition at the Wildcat Regional Invitational hosted by Wilmington University.
In the first match of the day against Adelphi University, the Redhawks dropped a 3-0 decision by set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-20. Junior Camryn Karelus led the offense with six kills and freshman Alexis Kessler led the defense with 11 digs.
In the second match of the day against Holy Family, Roberts took the opening set 25-22 but dropped the next three sets to fall 3-1.
Karelus registered 10 kills and Kessler recorded 15 digs while fellow freshman Sierra George handed out 19 assists.
The Redhawkd continue play in the tournament Saturday against Franklin Pierce and Wilmington.
