NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's volleyball team spent its third straight weekend on the road, competing at the Wildcat Regional Invitational at Wilmington University on Friday and Saturday.
The Redhawks (0-12) lost their two matches on Saturday, falling to Franklin Pierce, 3-1, and the host University of Williamson, 3-0.
In the first match, Roberts fell by scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16. Roberts took the opening set in the first match on a kill by
Olivia Price off a set by
Morgan Burnett. The Ravens then took the next three sets.
Burnett led the Redhawks with eight kills in the match while Price contributed seven kills, two aces and 10 digs.
Alexis Kessler led Roberts with 12 kills while
Sierra George added 16 kills and
Morgan Verbridge notched three blocks.
In the second match, Wilmington won three close sets 25-22, 25-21 and 25-22.
Camryn Karelus led Roberts with 12 kills and three blocks against Wilmington.
George registered 18 assists and Hull contributed 10. Price added 12 digs and Julia Dufkova had eight.
The Redhawks will open East Coast Conference play at noon on Saturday against Mercy.
