STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team dominated play in the second half en route to a 3-1 victory over the College of Staten Island in its East Coast Conference opener on Saturday.
Alyssa Hackett and
Jenna Northup both scored in the final 12 minutes as the Redhawks (3-1-1, 1-0 ECC) closed the match on a 3-0 run. Roberts outshot CSI 13-0 in the second half and held a 24-3 advantage in shots for the game.
CSI took a 1-0 lead in the 24
th minute before
Kara Choate evened things for Roberts at the 34:59 mark of the first half. Choate sent a feed from
Alena Weibel into the far corner of the net from six yards out for her third goal of the season.
Hackett capitalized on a failed clear by CSI to net the winner with 11:35 to play. Northup closed the scoring with 1:45 left, sending a 15-yard shot off the far post and in.
Mackenzie Hagen earned an assist on the play.
Rebecca Hoffman made one save and earned the win in goal for Roberts.

The Redhawks will play a non-conference match at Daemen on Wednesday.
