CLARION, PA – The Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team dropped the season-opener Thursday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Seton Hill in the first match of the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament in Tippin Gymnasium at Clarion University.
Roberts fell by set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13.
Junior outside hitter Camryn Karelus led the offense with seven kills and the defensive duo of freshman Alexis Kessler and junior Julia Dufková supplied eight and nine digs respectively. Freshman Ryan Hull handed out eight assists in her first career match.
Seton Hill limited the Roberts offense to 15 kills in the match and played strong defense with 48 digs while delivering 12 aces in the match.
The Redhawks will face Goldey-Beacom College at 7 p.m. Friday in the second match of the tournament and will play American International College and host Clarion Saturday to wrap up tournament play.
