CLARION, PA – Junior Camryn Karelus led the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball team with a career-high 21 kills but it was not enough as Goldey-Beacom came from behind to edge the Redhawks 3-2 on day two of the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament at Clarion University.
Goldey-Beacom won the opening set 25-18 but Roberts (0-2) rebounded to win the next two sets 25-19 and 25-22 to take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Lightning rallied to take the fourth set 25-19 and closed out the match with a 15-10 victory in the tie-breaker set.
Karelus finished with 21 kills and a .314 attack percentage, 11 digs and five aces. Senior Morgan Burnett added 13 kills, 12 digs and six aces for a double-double and freshman Ryan Hull handed out 42 assists and added a team-leading 20 digs for a double-double.
Junior Julia Dufková chipped in 16 digs and had seven assists while senior Morgan Verbridge added nine kills for the Redhawks.
Roberts will wrap up play in the tournament Saturday with matches against American International and Clarion.
