OSWEGO, NY – Sophomore Antoine Pieterse won three events, freshman Raphael Weber won two and freshman Tanner Pinto-Cohn won a distance race to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Swimming and Diving team at a dual meet at Oswego Saturday afternoon.
Pieterse teamed with sophomore Ethan Springle, freshman Leu Cabanayan and freshman Hayden Smith to win the meet-opening 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.42. He followed that up with victories in the 50 freestyle in 21.20, the 100 butterfly in 50.39 and the 200 IM with the top time of 2:00.57.
Weber took top honors in the 100 backstroke and also won the 200 back with times of 56.03 and 1:58.15.
Pinto-Cohn swam a strong 500 freestyle and placed first with a time of 5:07.30.
The Redhawks had second-place finishers with freshman Joshua Meece in the 200 butterfly (2:11.67) and freshman diver Joel Fesmire in both the 1m and 3m events with scores of 138.85 and 135.50.
Roberts dropped the team score 153-132.
The Redhawks will swim next on January 31 vs. Monroe Community College for senior day and the final prep event before the Metropolitan Conference Championships in February.
