ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Keonjay Carter scored 19 of his career-high 29 points in the first half, but the Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team could not overcome a big second half run by Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Friday night.
The Redhawks and Spartans were tied at 45 before STAC outscored Roberts 34-18 over a 12 minute, 3 second span to pull away for an 88-74 win in an East Coast Conference game at the Voller Athletic Center.
Carter, a redshirt junior, made 6 of his eight three-point attempts and led four Redhawks who scored in double figures.
Collin Woods added 14 points,
Jaden Lee scored 12 and
Jordan Brown added 10.
Roberts built a 10-point lead in the first half and went to the half tied at 41 after Brown made a driving layup at the buzzer. Brown led Roberts with six assists. STAC outrebounded Roberts 45-27 in the game.
The Redhawks (2-9, 0-3 ECC) will host Mercy University at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Voller Athletic Center.
