Duncan Scores Three Goals on the Road at St. Michael’s

COLCHESTER, VT – Sophomore Colin Duncan scored three times for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Lacrosse team but the Redhawk offense sputtered as St. Michael's College won a 13-5 decision Friday afternoon in Vermont.

Roberts (1-2) scored a goal in each of the first three quarters but St. Michael's (3-0) scored six times in the first 30 minutes to take a 6-2 lead at halftime.

The Purple Knights used a 3-1 scoring edge in the third period to take a 9-3 lead and finished the game with a 4-2 scoring advantage in the final quarter.

Duncan scored three of the five goals for Roberts while sophomore Chase Wilson and junior Ryan Brown each added one goal.

Senior Isaac Marrero won 13-of-19 face-offs and collected eight ground balls. Senior Brady Kustra had three caused turnovers and a team-high 11 ground balls while fellow senior Liam Linden was credited with five caused turnovers for the defense.

Senior Garrett Kayser made nine saves in the Redhawk goal.

Roberts continues the early-season stretch of road games Sunday afternoon at Assumption University with a 12 p.m. start in Worcester, Massachusetts.
