ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Paul Fillion tied his career high with 18 kills and sophomore Landon Brouwer notched a career-best 56 assists for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team as the Redhawks battled back from an early deficit but dropped a five-set decision to Daemen University Tuesday night in the Voller Athletic Center.

Daemen (2-5) took an early 2-0 lead with wins of 25-23 and 25-21 in the first two sets. Roberts (4-6) battled back and won a thrilling third set 31-29 and tied the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set to force the tie-breaker set. The Redhawks held an early lead and had an 8-6 lead as the teams switched sides. After the Wildcats regained the lead, freshman Jordan Hoover had a kill to tie the games at 12-12 and fellow freshman Jayce Moore added a kill to knot the set at 13-13 but Daemen rallied for the final two points in the set to take the match.

Moore finished with 15 kills and sophomore Ryan DeJohn added 16 kills for the Roberts offense. Senior Moises Jimenez led the defense with 12 digs and Brouwer added 10 digs to go along with his career-high 56 assists and four aces. Hoover had nine kills and a team-high five blocks.
