BEAVER FALLS, PA – It was a total team effort Saturday as the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team swept a pair of matches in a tri-match in Pennsylvania with 3-0 wins over Geneva College and Lancaster Bible College.
Roberts (6-6) started the day with a 3-0 win over Geneva by set scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22 before capping the day with another 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible by set scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-23.
In the Geneva match, freshman Connor Latta led the attack with nine kills, juniors Griffin Monrad added eight and Kaidan Krchniak seven while senior Noah Liousfi and sophomore Patrick Bodecker chipped in six each. Freshman Andrew Howe handed out 35 assists and sophomore Liam O'Keefe led the defense with nine digs.
Against Lancaster Bible, sophomore Ryan DeJohn led the way with 18 kills, a .433 attack percentage and a team-leading six digs, sophomore Landon Brouwer had 38 assists while freshman Jordan Hoover added eight kills and eight blocks.
Roberts returns home and will face Finger Lakes Community College in an exhibition match Monday in Canandaigua.
